There is an indistinct inscription on the backing which appears to be a confirmation of the work's authenticity from Jean Alexandru Steriadi.

There is a 10 inch diagonal repaired tear or break in the board with a corresponding area of inpainting in the upper right quadrant; dirty varnish; frame rubbing, resulting in a few small losses along the edges; 2 inch line of damage at the upper right corner; difficult to detect further restoration through the varnish under UV light.
