According to a type written note in the archives of the collector, this gouache is the original of the lithograph illustrating the work of Francis Carco Montmartre Lived by Utrillo.

Hinged to the mat from the top verso corners; few small scattered water spots, mainly in the upper left quadrant; some cracking in the pigment in the white hat of the woman at the lower right; some discoloration along the edges; minor buckling to the sheet; pinholes in the corners; This work was cleaned and restored in 1982. It was noted by the conservator that they repaired a small tear in the upper right corner, removed paper tape and tape stains, consolidated and inpainted.
